Dorsal spines (total): 20-21; Dorsal soft rays (total): 38-41; Anal soft rays: 36-40. Description: Characterized by whitish, pale yellowish or pale blue body color; presence of orange to yellow stripe from front of lower jaw, across snout, through eye and continued along upper side to rear margin of caudal fin; dorsal midline of head with iridescent blue stripe; scaled cheek and opercle; origin of dorsal fin slightly posterior to level of pectoral fin base; rounded caudal fin; depth of body 12-16 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
Inhabits sand and rubble bottoms (Ref. 9710, 48637). Also found in open sand. Algal flats and seagrass beds in 3-50 m (Ref. 90102). |
