Asia: known only from the type locality, the Kaladan River in Mizoram, India. |
Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal soft rays: 12-12. Distinguished from other species of the genus Glyptothorax by the having the following characters: thoracic adhesive apparatus elongate, ovoid with an oval central depression, the apparatus not reaching the gular region; base of the caudal fin with two blackish-brown blotches behind the hypural plate; occipital process not in contact with the anterior nuchal-plate element; a long dorsal spine (17.9-19.5 % SL); ventral surfaces of simple and adjacent branched rays of the pectoral and pelvic fins with well developed plicae, and first branchial arch with eight to nine gill rakers (Ref. 90059).
