Family:  Sisoridae (Sisorid catfishes), subfamily: Sisorinae
Max. size:  8.8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: northeastern Laos, Red River basin in Viet Nam and Yunnan.
Diagnosis:  Body with 2 dark saddles, at dorsal origin and under adipose; rest of the body with irregular spots and blotches. Neural spines distally expanded, forming a row of low bumps between dorsal and adipose (distinct in larger specimens only). Anal origin under adipose origin (Ref. 43281).
Biology:  Inhabits swift, flowing streams.
