Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Lateral line with 51-83 scales, usually fewer than 70. Dorsal and anal fin usually with 8 rays. First gill arch with 9 or fewer rakers. Scales often darkly outlined (Ref. 86798). |
Occurs in pools and undercut banks of creeks and small rivers, usually near woody debris. Also found in marshes. Maximum length is presumably about 38 cm TL (Ref. 86798). |
