Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Laviniinae
Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North and central America: Sycamore (Bear) Canyon in Arizona, USA; Rio de la Concepcion in Sonora, Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Gila ditaenia is nearly identifical to Gila pandora but can be distinguished by smaller (63-75 lateral) scales (Ref. 86798).
Biology:  Inhabits rocky and sandy pools (intermittent during dry season) of creeks and springs (Ref. 5723, 86798).
