| Diagnosis: | Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 5-5; Vertebrae: 36-37. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: well- developed mental adhesive disc present; scaleless region of the abdomen adjacent to the ventral midline extending midway to pelvic- fin insertions; very tiny or papilla- like maxillary barbels predorsal scales 8-15; thick caudal peduncle depth 0.9-1.3, mean 1.1 in its length; interorbital space width 40.1– 48.6, average 44.8, % of HL; mental adhesive disc not extending to the vertical through the posterior margin of eye; densely papillated; no W- shaped black mark along lateral and subdistal margins of the caudal fin; four scale rows below the lateral line (Ref. 137635). | |||
