Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 5-5; Vertebrae: 36-36. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: well-developed mental adhesive disc present; scaleless region of the abdomen adjacent to the ventral midline extending midway to pelvic fin insertions; caudal peduncle depth 13.5-15.0, mean 14.0, % of SL; predorsal scales 0-5; interorbital space width 48.6-53.7, mean 50.1, % of HL; maxillary barbels than half of eye diameter; firinged distal margin of the rostral fold; indistinct black longitudinal band extending along the lateral line on the flank; mental adhesive disc densely papillated; four scale rows below the lateral line and absence of W-shaped black mark along lateral; subdistal margins of the caudal fin (Ref. 137635).
