Family:  Fundulidae (Topminnows and killifishes)
Max. size:  6.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; marine, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: From the lower Chesapeake Bay to the St. Johns River in northern Florida; In northern coasts of the Gulf of Mexico, from Alabama to Corpus Christi, Texas in the USA (Ref. 93252). Replaced by Fundulus confluentus in Florida (Ref. 93252).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in bays and brackish waters. 7.5 cm max TL (Ref. 7251). Feeds on aquatic insects and isopods (Ref. 79012). Not a seasonal killifish (Ref. 27139).
