Dorsal soft rays (total): 2-3; Anal soft rays: 9-10; Vertebrae: 34-34. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following unique characters: head sensory canal pores are poorly developed, including 1 nasal and 1 postorbital pore; with 2 nasal pores; upper end of the gill opening level with base of 9th or 10th pectoral-fin ray in lateral view; disc region A with papillae at center; body red with white stripes; head slightly narrow, head width 14.1-16.0% SL, slightly narrow anterior and posterior interorbital widths, 7.6-8.3% and 11.7-14.0% SL, respectively (Ref. 129315). |
Found on sponge on a rubble bottom in 70 m depth (Ref. 90102). |
