Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-13; Anal soft rays: 10-12. Distinguished by having seven pectoral filaments, not reaching midpoint of anal fin; depth of posterior margin of maxilla less than eye diameter; snout pointed; and body in life, usually brown above and golden or silvery below. |
