Max. size:  1.09 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 7 - 17 m
Distribution:  Northwestern Pacific: Ryukyu Is., Japan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8; Vertebrae: 26-26. This species is distinguished by the following characters: cephalic sensory-pore system lacking F’ (AOT), G (IT) pore and preopercular-canal pores N’ & O’ (POP) pores; (Pattern 2); dorsal/anal fin-ray formula 8/8; pectoral-fin rays are branched; absence of the fifth pelvic-fin ray; genital papilla is neither fimbriate nor cup-shaped; lateral scales 19-21 (Ref. 96643).
