Family:  Percidae (Perches), subfamily: Etheostomatinae
Max. size:  6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: lower Rio Grande drainage in Texas, USA and Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit gravel and rubble riffles of creeks and small rivers (Ref. 5723). Eggs are found attached to the substrate unguarded (Ref. 7043).
