Biology: |
Adults are benthic (Ref. 58302), occurring in rocky shores exposed to surf; dwell in holes and crevices to escape heavy wave action (Ref. 205). They feed on algae, detritus and small invertebrates. Oviparous. Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205), and are attached to the substrate via a filamentous, adhesive pad or pedestal (Ref. 94114). Larvae are planktonic, often found in shallow, coastal waters (Ref. 94114). |
