Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Diagnosis: mouth inferior; two pairs of barbels, anterior pair 0.75-1.05x eye diameter, posterior pair 1.1-1.75x; lateral line complete; 25-28 scales in lateral line; 12 scales around caudal peduncle; longitudinal interrupted black stripe, composed of 3-5 elongated spots (Ref. 81639).
Description: small species; scales radially striated; 4.5-5.5 scales between lateral line and dorsal fin origin; 4.5 scales between lateral line and mid-belly; 2.5-3 scales between lateral line and pelvic fin insertion; D:III,8; A:III,5; dorsal fin with concave border, last simple ray soft, not serrated (Ref. 81639).
Coloration: ground color yellowish to orange, brown dorsally and white ventrally; interrupted black longitudinal band, composed of 3-5 elongated spots, is present; scales on upper part of body largely bordered with brown anteriorly, or even completely darkened; dorsal, anal and caudal fins tinted red (Ref. 81639). |
