Diagnosis: last simple dorsal-fin ray smooth on hind margin; scale formula 4.5/27-28/4.5; 2.5 scales between lateral line and pelvic-fin base; 12 scales around caudal peduncle; 8 branched dorsal fin rays; two pairs of long barbels; anterior barbell reaching to, or extending beyond, posterior half of eye; posterior barbel extending beyond hind margin of eye; lateral line complete and deeply depressed below dorsal fin; maximum reported size 52 mm SL; black spot, as large as eye, at end of caudal peduncle (Ref. 2940, 81282).
Description: body relatively elongate (depth on fourth or less of SL); D: III,8; A: III,5; P:14-15; V: 8 (Ref. 2940, 81282).
Coloration: hind edges of scales pigmented, particularly those in lateral line; presence of series of dark, lateral-line pores completes this color pattern, showing 2 parallel series of spots; oval black spot, as large as eye, at end of caudal peduncle (Ref. 2940, 81282). |
Affinities: B. chlorotaenia; B. bigornei and B. inaequalis (Ref. 2940). Maximum TL was recorded at 6.5 cm (Ref. 2801). |
