Characterized by having: terminal mouth position; thin white lateral stripe from eye to caudal peduncle and thin white bar on snout; naked and elongate body, laterally compressed; absence of rostral frenum; rounded tongue; dorsal fin without elongated anterior spines; caudal fin rounded; complete ventral fin cup (Ref. 50538). |

The only shallow-water sponge-dwelling Elacatinus found in the Gulf of Honduras (Ref. 50538). |
