This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: D 10; A 7; pectoral-fn rays 18; scale rows in longitudinal series 51; snout barbels 3; supraocular tentacle with numerous short branches on posterior margin, without lateral branches; small flap on uppermost preopercular spine base; fresh specimens with reddish K-shaped marking on caudal peduncle just before caudal-fn base (Ref. 123552). |
