Diagnosis: |
Body orange in upper part of eyes, grayish black or deep green on head and top of body, silver white on sides; pectoral and pelvic fins slightly yellow. Head conical and snout pointed; lower jaw slightly protruded; barbels 2 pairs; last simple ray of dorsal and anal fins spined and serrated on hind margins. |
Biology: |
Adults mostly live in the deep parts of the lake without waterweeds. Feed mainly on plankton. Spawning period is in April and May (Ref. 45563). |
