Distribution:  South America: Cuyuni River in Guyana and eastern Venezuela; coastal rivers of the Guianas from the Essequibo River of Guyana to Mana River of French Guiana; upper Branco River in Brazil; possibly occurring in the Orinoco and upper Negro rivers.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in the rapids, in creeks with sandy or rocky bottoms. Feeds on detritus (Ref. 12225).
