Family:  Cynoglossidae (Tonguefishes), subfamily: Cynoglossinae
Max. size:  32.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: Thailand to Viet Nam, Borneo, and Sumatra.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 117-119; Anal soft rays: 92-96. Plain dark brown on the eye-side of body; body depth 4.3-5.0 times in SL; 21-22 scale rows between 2 lateral lines; with a single pelvic fin (Ref. 43281).
Biology:  A strictly freshwater species found in large rivers. Found along the bottom where it feeds on benthic invertebrates. Marketed fresh (Ref.12693).
