Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Labeoninae
Max. size:  16 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6.5 - 8; dH range: 5 - 20
Distribution:  Asia: Thailand to Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 22-24. With broad lateral stripe along the body; lateral stripe extending onto middle rays of caudal fin; 8-9 predorsal scales; rostral barbels only (Ref. 12693); 2-3 scale rows between anus and anal fin origin (Ref. 43281).
Biology:  Usually occurs in hill streams or near rapids, in clear, fast flowing water (Ref. 43281). Found at bottom depths of rivers and streams. Microphagous, feeding on periphyton and phytoplankton (Ref. 12693).
