Distribution:	Asia and Oceania: central-southern New Guinea between the Kubuna River in Papua New Guinea and Lake Jamur in Irian Jaya, Indonesia; also Balimo Lagoon, and upper Fly-Strickland, Morehead and Bensbach in Papua New Guinea.
Diagnosis:	Dorsal spines (total): 6-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 7-11
Biology:	Inhabits clear rivers and small tributary streams over mud, sand and rocky bottoms.
