Diagnosis: |
Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 22-25; Anal soft rays: 4-4. Has a color pattern very similar to C. schultzi.
Description: Characterized by whitish color with dark grey snout; head and body covered with numerous dark-edged orange spots, sometimes merged to form solid stripes; 10 caudal rays; rings 15 - 16 + 29 - 32; discontinuous superior trunk and tail ridges; straight lateral trunk ridge, ends near anal ring; continuous inferior trunk and tail ridge; length of snout 1.7-2.0 in head length; head length 5.5-7.1 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
Biology: |
Inhabits rubble patches of shallow sheltered reefs (Ref. 37816). Found to a depth of 12 m. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). |
