This species of C. hubbsi group is distinguished by the following characters: snout very long 1.9-2.1 times in HL), terminal snout scute long and narrow; orbital diameter equal to the postorbital length and exceeding the length of the upper jaw: 24.4-30.6, 23.1-30.6, and
15.-21.4% HL, respectively; with 3-4 parallel rows of spinules on the body scales at HL 5.0-6.0 cm and cycloid scales on the isthmus; a separate contrasting suprapectoral spot and a contrasting saddle-shaped spot behind the origin of second dorsal (Ref. 124525). |
