Possess the following unique combination of character states: body slender, body depth at anus 9.0-11.4% in SL; distance of occipital process to dorsal fin origin 9.9-11.8% in SL; dorsal and anal fins separate from caudal fin. |
Found in freshwater sections of torrent streams, in clear, cool, fast flowing water over a substrate of sand, rocks and large granite boulders. Largely carnivorous, subsisting on small fish, crustaceans and insects. Seems to be nocturnal, emerging into the open at night. Also Ref. 84801. |
