Family:  Labridae (Wrasses), subfamily: Cheilininae
Max. size:  7.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 3 - 43 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea. Species complex with Cirrhilabrus rubeus and C. africanus.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits fringing reefs, over coral or rubble bottoms (Ref. 9710). Feeds on zooplankton in the water column (Ref. 9710).

Threat to humans:  harmless
