Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Males appear much larger and has large dorsal and anal fins that are bright red and spread during display. It has red ventral fins with extremely long filaments (Ref. 48636). |
Occurs over rubble or low patch reefs in areas of current. Occurs in small groups, each with a single male dominating (Ref. 48636). Feeds on zooplankton in the water column. Collected using rotenone. |
