Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 18 - 28 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Marshall Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9
Biology:  Found over dense algal beds of deep lagoons. Feeds on zooplankton 1-2 m above the bottom (Ref. 9710).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 July 2008 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
