Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal soft rays: 13-15. Diagnosis: snout length larger than 75% of mouth width; dorsal spine long, 17.2-22.9% HL, less than 6 times in SL; dorsal fin base length 21.3-31.5% HL; 13-15 soft rays in anal fin (Ref. 81642).
Description: premaxillary toothband wide (width 33.2-45.2% HL), mouth wider (width 42.33-55.6% HL) than snout length (30.7-42.9% HL); vomerine and palatine dentition strongly developed, even in juveniles; pectoral fin with 9 (rarely
10) soft rays; anal fin with 13-15 soft
rays, 4-5 unbranched, 8-10 branched; nasal barbel long (length 16.2-36.5% HL)(Ref. 81642).
Coloration: preserved specimens: head and dorsum dark brown, ventrum creamy white (Ref. 81642). |
