Family:  Labridae (Wrasses), subfamily: Bodianinae
Max. size:  36 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Northwest Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults occur inshore (Ref. 75154). They are found in sand and weed areas adjacent to coral reefs (Ref. 36661). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 30 April 2004 Ref. (130435)
