Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 8 - 9; dH range: 9 - 19,
Distribution:  Africa: endemic to Lake Tanganyika, lake-wide distribution (Ref. 5610, 95611).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Rubble-dweller; builds nest on the rubble; feeds on invertebrates growing on the rocks which are hidden by the biocover (Ref. 6770). Associated with rocky habitat and unlike C. cyanophleps it is not very shy (Ref. 95611).
