Max. size:  14 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 3 - 15 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula south to tropical East Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 21-23; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 18-20
Biology:  Found in coral reefs, solitary or paired. Home-ranging. Feed at least partially on coral polyps (Ref. 9710). Oviparous (Ref. 205). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205).
