| Diagnosis: | Dorsal soft rays (total): 47-47; Anal soft rays: 41-41; Vertebrae: 52-52. This species is characterized by the following: no pleural ribs; terminal mouth oblique; very small eyes (5.1% SL); very large gill slit, 11.2% SL, oblique; strongly elongated upper pectoral lobe 30.9% SL, deep notch with rudimentary rays; large head, 26%, anteanal; distance 43.1%, disk 8.7% SL: Colour of body dark brown with lighter specks; black peritoneum; stomach and pyloric caeca light (Ref. 44814). | |||
