| Biology: | Collected by pelagic trawling, 0-30 m above the eastern slope of the Novaya Zemlya Depression (193 m deep); suggesting the pelagic habitat of this species. According to field study, the surface water temperature at the locality was 5-7°C, thermocline was situated at a depth from 20 to 30 m, and water temperature of the whole water mass below up to bottom was negative (-0.6 to -0.7°C), salinity 33.31-34.33 ppt from surface to bottom. Most likely that this species inhabits the layer closely below the thermocline where zooplankton organisms produced large concentration there; that is, in water of negative temperatures (Ref. .116680) | |||
