Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Diagnosis: This species can be distinguished by the interorbital space, which is smaller than the eye and the scales are larger than other north African barbels (Ref. 94557).
Description: The anterior barbel is a little shorter than the eye diameter, the posterior barbel is of the same length as the eye diameter (Ref. 84557). Dorsal fin with 4 unbranched rays and 9 branched rays; anal fin with 3 unbranched rays and 5 branched rays (Ref. 94557).
Colouration: The colouration is olive on the dorsal side, with bluish, silverish and yallowish metallic reflections on the flanks and the ventral side; dorsal fin and caudal fin grey, other fins yellowish white (Ref. 84557). |
