Family:  Pentanchidae (Deepwater catsharks)
Max. size:  26 cm TL (male/unsexed); 29 cm TL (female)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 200 - 403 m
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: southernmost India, Sri Lanka, and the Andaman Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on the upper continental slopes. Feeds on small fishes, squid and crustaceans. Mode of development uncertain. Not utilized at present.
