Distribution:  South America: Chinipo River basin (upper Ucayali River drainage), Amazon River basin in Peru.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit slow flowing or pool-like portions of the river. Apparently territorial (Ref. 9088). Both parents guard eggs and larvae (Ref. 40602).
