This species can be distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: longer and deeper head, longer snout and pectoral fin, deeper caudal peduncle, fewer number of scales in the E1 series and lower lateral line, no preopercular spot, bars 6 and 7 separated from longitudinal band and discontinuous longitudinal band (Ref. 128932). |
This species inhabits streams and riverbanks, with white and clear water. Also found in lagoons of fluvial and tectonic origin (Ref. 128932). |
