Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal soft rays: 19-22. Its elongated body with greatest depth 24.6-29.8% of SL; lack of dark pigmentation on the distal tips of the caudal fin; 3 or 4 maxillary teeth. Bryconamericus lambariis further distinguished from B. iheringii by the shallower body depth and shorter pelvic fins; distinguished from B. stramineus in its absence of a conspicuous and wide midlateral stripe (present in B. stramineus). |
Occurs in small river with sandy and rocky bottoms in areas of low current flow. |
