Family:  Labridae (Wrasses), subfamily: Bodianinae
Max. size:  8.67 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 20 - 75 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Indonesia, Fiji and Line Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  This species has been photographed at depths of 25-50 m, with adults occurring in groups along ledges on steep dropoffs at depths greater than 20 m, and juveniles observed at about 50 m (Ref. 75973). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205).
