Max. size:  5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 10 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean and Southeast Atlantic: Durban to Algoa Bay in South Africa; extends to Tsitsikamma National Park (Ref. 11228).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 24-28; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-7; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 19-21. Color ranges from green, brown, red and orange; mottled with silver 'bubble' (Ref. 5496).
Biology:  Found in subtidal and intertidal areas.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 03 May 2010 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
