Family:  Batrachoididae (Toadfishes), subfamily: Halophryninae
Max. size:  33 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 6 - 8 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: known only from central and southern Oman.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 23-24; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 15-18. Caudal fin rounded.
Biology:  Found in crevices. Produces a skin toxin that keeps predators away.
