Family:  Osphronemidae (Gouramies), subfamily: Macropodusinae
Max. size:  7.04 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: known only from eastern Johor, Peninsular Malaysia, and previously from Singapore.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 27-27
Biology:  Inhabits well shaded shallow streams in very soft mud substrate with abundant leaf litter and detritus.
