Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-11; Anal soft rays: 28-31; Vertebrae: 30-32. Characterized by having kidney-shaped black throat mark; dorsal and caudal transverse bars present; spotted opercle; opercle with black lower margin; subdorsal scale, mode 6 ½; postdorsal scales, mode12; anal fin rays, mode 29; and lateral scales, mode 31 (Ref. 56386). |
Occurs in black-waters draining out from peat swamp forests. Also collected from a flooded peat swamp forest, among plant debris and logs in shallow tea-colored water, with a pH of 4.1 (Ref. 30225). |
