Family:  Cottidae (Sculpins)
Max. size:  13.7 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 200 - 815 m
Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: South-central Bering Sea; eastern Gulf of Alaska; western Bering Sea off Cape Navarin to Pacific Ocean off Kuril Islands and to the Sea of Okhotsk.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 9-11. Yellowish gray, darker on head and tail; dorsal anal, pectoral and pelvic fins completely black; caudal fin dusky (Ref. 43939).
Biology:  Found on the bottom; also in the water column over bottom depths to 3,730 m (Ref. 43939).
