Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: Australian waters from south of Rockhampton, Queensland to Sydney.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-16; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 15-17; Vertebrae: 48-50. Lower jaw proportionately longer at larger sizes. Anal fin rays usually 16; vertebrae usually 49; gill rakers usually 19-21 on the first arch.
