Family:  Apistidae (Wasp scorpionfishes)
Max. size:  13.15 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 40 - 42 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: northern Arabian Sea, off Oman.
Diagnosis:  This specis is distinguished by the following set of characters: the inner surface of pectoral fin is white, scattered with numerous black spots; anterior dorsal-fin spines is relatively long, first spine 16.3-16.5% of SL, second spine 17.0-18.7% of SL ,third spine 16.9-19.9% of SL, fourth spine 18.8-21.3% of SL, and fifth spine 18.1-21.2% of SL, in large specimens greater than 9.5 cm SL (Ref. 137862).
