Dorsal soft rays (total): 69-78; Anal soft rays: 51-58; Vertebrae: 39-40. Uniformly brown background coloration without blotches and 6 dark, very narrow stripes along trunk, 3 stripes above and 3 below lateral line; scale margins are also darker than in other congeneric species; elongate body shape, small eye (5-6% HL) and a wide, variable interorbital space (200-300% of eye); absence of scales on the interorbital space and presence of a gill opening on both sides of the head (Ref. 49504). |
