Family:  Nothobranchiidae (African rivulines)
Max. size:  3.91 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: only known from the type locality at Epoma (Mambili drainage, Likouala system, middle Congo River basin) in the Republic of Congo (Ref. 83477).
Diagnosis:  A small species, with a slightly more slender morphology in the Aphyosemion subgenus and with a unique color pattern on male posterior sides of oblique red lines, sometimes fusing to form chevrons ('<<', as seen starting from head) and with red blotches near the base of the anal fin (Ref. 83477).
Biology:  Primary forest creeks with cool water (Ref. 83477).
