Max. size:  41 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 1000 - 1537 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: reported from Japan, China and Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17-19; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 18-21. Pored scales in lateral line less than 60. Frontal bone flat above the eye, not forming ridge. Snout not spatulate, but pointed anteriorly, shorter than 1.5 times orbit diameter. Palatine teeth minute.
